Born in the late 70 in a little town called: Zevenaar. When he turned ten, Matthieu bought his first tape of Turn up the Bass – Houseparty 1. From this moment on, everything turned around. His classmates talked about bands like: Bon jovi and Matallica. But he felt the vibe of totally different kind of music. The revolutionairy sounds of Voodoo child, the break boys and offcourse The KLF. The beginning of house.

After a few years of hard work and saving up his last penny, his cousine Peter (resident enjoy, Gorinchem) came up with a donation. Finally there was enough money to buy two turnables and a mixer. All this at the age of fourteen. From this moment on Djing was a big part of his live.

Since that moment a lot of styles has attracted his attention. In the turbulent nineties were house, hardcore, trance, techno and even the hitparade a big part of his vinyl collection. Nowadays Matthieu is totally into melodic house. Styles like beachhouse, chillhouse, latin and electro. Within these style he seeks for a funky and soulfull set.  

The Dj name of Matthieu is Alberto Winkelman, with this name he has made a few succesfull dj sets at the famous beachclub Bloomingdale (ID&T). Alberto Winkelman is a resident dj for the award winning radio dj, Giel Beelen at 3fm.

NEDERLANDS

Geboren in Zevenaar eind zeventiger jaren. Al op zijn tiende jaar kocht Matthieu zijn eerste Turn up the bass – houseparty 1 cassettebandje. Vanaf dit moment werd alles anders. Iedereen had het over Bon jovi en Metallica, maar Matthieu stond uit zijn dak te gaan op de revolutionaire sounds van oa Voodoo child, The break boys en uiteraard de legendarische KLF.

Na een aantal jaren sparen en dankzij een flinke sponsoring van zijn neef Peter (voormalig resident Enjoy te Gorinchem) kon Matthieu op zijn veertiende twee draaitafels en mengtafeltje aanschaffen. Vanaf dit moment (1993) is het DJ vak in zijn bloed gekropen en dit is er nooit meer uitgegaan.

Vele stijlen hebben zijn aandacht getrokken. In de roerige jaren negentig werden house, hardcore, trance, techno en zelfs commerciële dance, al dan niet gecombineerd met andere stijlen als feestcafé en skihutstijl, gedraaid door Matthieu. Tegenwoordig houdt hij zich bezig met groovy tunes van beachhouse, chillhouse, latin tot en met elektro en alles wat daar tussen in zit. Als het maar funky en soulfull is. Matthieu wil zich niet binden tot een specifieke stijl, omdat hij het juist een uitdaging vindt om zijn publiek te verrassen met een mix van verschillende stijlen in zijn set.

Inmiddels heeft Matthieu onder zijn naam Alberto Winkelman in 2007 en 2008 gedraaid voor de beroemde beachclub Bloomingdale van ID&T in Bloemendaal. Tevens is hij druk bezig om zijn netwerk flink uit te breiden, zo draai hij met enige regelmaat bij verschillende clubs in Nederland. Bij 3fm draait hij bij Giel Beelen in de freaknacht.
